It has long been observed that we don't really agree on anything at all. Yippee its non banking day, the Sunday Papers is published this week on a Sunday, keen readers will recall the last edition the "Fatwa Edition" was published at midnight 21/7/05 local barcelona time. It has now been 209 days since Ireland had her first tornado of the current age. & and our neighbours in the same climate zone (the Engurlish) have had this week suffered that lamentable Hand of God action which saw many homes in the south of Birmingham left without roofing tiles. But because these were god fearing people there were no deaths or serious injuries. read full story / add a comment

U.S. ABC television network has been stripped of its accreditation at the Russian Defence Ministry after it broadcasted an interview with Chechen warlord Shamil Basayev, Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said on Sunday. “We shall continue being open with the press, but that channel will never be invited to the ministry and there will be no interviews with it,” Ivanov emphasized. “This channel has become persona non grata for the ministry, it is an outcast,” the head of the Russian ministry told reporters. “If I have to express feelings over that (Basayev’s interview with ABC), I would put it in just one word – indignation,” the Russian defence minister emphasized. Ivanov said he had given instructions to the head of the ministry press service to see that no military from the ministry maintained contacts with that television network any longer. ******************************** The Russians aren't the only people well pissed off with ABC TV... read full story / add a comment

Bourgeoise Notting Hill has been shaken to its foundations and after Police swooped this morning on a flat just off Portobello Road and arrested the Hackney bus bomb suspect. A police cordon has gone up around the area, primarily it seems to keep the media frenzy at bay. Police officers are vetting residents as they try and pass the police lines to make sure they are not members of the press. read full story / add a comment
