Yesterday's bomb attacks in London have been universally condemned by Anti-war groups in Ireland and Britain. Many right wing commentators have tried to link the murder of these innocent people with the anti-war movements, the broad muslim community, those people who protested against poverty and war at the G8 summit in Scotland, in particular anarchists. About 500 people joined the protest Wednesday evening in Dublin to protest at the jailing of the Mayo 5. This was very good considering it was called at short notice.
A further protest is to be held in Belmullet 2pm Saturday July 9.
A car cavalcade is being organised from Dublin meeting at 8.30am at Liberty Hall. If you have a car and have spaces or want to be a passenger please phone 087-2839964 so we can estimate numbers. read full story / add a comment

The Residents Against Racism people knew that the deportation was imminent from early this afternonn. In the early afternoon they were part of an anti-deportation demonstration at the Garda National Immigration Bureau on Burgh Quay. Around 20 Nigerian men were picked up on Sunday night in Blanchardstown. Gardai conducted something of a trawl through pubs in the area as part of the process leading up to the deportation flight. People without ID were picked up in the pubs and their identities checked later. read full story / add a comment
