The video of Margaret Hassan really appalls me. This woman should be released immediately. How utterly shameful that this woman, an Irish citizen, too, should be humiliated like this. Yet again, Indymedia Ireland is silent on this embarrassment to their fellow travellers' unjust cause. Just check out Liverpool Indymedia's churlish silence on Ken Bigley. Where are the Senator Mary Henry's and the Naomi Klein's appealing for her life? She must be released immediately. Freedom must prevail. read full story / add a comment

dublin / anti-capitalism / opinion/analysis Wednesday October 20, 2004 13:55 by James O'Brien
This is the text of the talk I gave a couple of weeks back at the Irish Social Forum. A number of workshops were merged into that one, the SWP had requested one on the Party and the Anti-Capitalist movment, ourselves on anarchism, and somebody else on alliances, fronts and left organisations. So this talk concentrated on introducing anarchist ideas on and left it up to the discussion from the floor afterwards to see where things went. Kieran Allen of the SWP and Dermot Connelly formerly of the Socialist Party spoke from a Marxist-Leninist viewpoint. Thanks to all the people in the ISF for putting the work in to make the weekend, at least, possible. read full story / add a comment

Yesterday, Mary represented herself in court and asked that a translator of german be provided for one of her witnesses and that her right to a "Mc Kenzie friend" be recognized - both her requests were acquiesced to. Today, once the jury is sworn in, the trial proper should start - we urge all people of conscience, who are not prepared to take the lies and criminal collusion of our government with Bush & co, anymore, to get themselves to Ennis court to protest, protest, protest and support her ?. read full story / add a comment

The calendar was set at October 20, 2000. The political prisoners decided to resist the state of Turkey's project to set up isolation prisons.
