It’s been something of a heady year in UCD, sometimes it feels like everything has happened so fast that a year has passed in a month. Then at other times it seems that those of us active in UCD are leaving this year with the experiences and memories of more than one year. It is difficult to have anything resembling an accurate mental chronology of it in my head. There exists just some vague collage of activity and the ensuing ups and downs. One of the lessons to draw from this is the need to archive and preserve what is happening around us, not out of any sense of egotism or over estimation of our own importance, but because of the need to pass on a legacy of struggle to future activists, no matter how big or insignificant the success or failure, a repository of method and struggle can only advance read full story / add a comment

The surreal experience that is Ennis district courtroom continued apace last Friday 7th March with 3 separate cases of resistance to US military use of Shannon Warport being heard. Set in a 1970’s GAA clubhouse/drinking den, the court surroundings brought a whole new meaning to ‘being brought to the bar’ as most of us sat propped against it, reading papers. read full story / add a comment

There exists in Ireland a proud tradition of postcarding the world to remind them that it is time for paddys day parties again ( . . . or maybe just to remind them that they can celebrate all they want but it was ours first . . . I'm not quite sure). This is our time of the year, the time the world - if not conceding that they are actually paying us any real attention - at least casts a vacant glance in our direction.
