On July 28th 2012 at 3.00pm, cycle naked (or as bare as you dare) in the streets of Cork with a hundred or more cyclists. This is a protest against car culture, and the dangers cyclists face on the roads. It is also a celebration of the human body and the importance of body acceptance regardless of shape or size, and something which we can see as beautiful in a non-sexualised context. Lastly we cycle to draw attention to the need for more serious support for this most sustainable transport option which leaves zero carbon footprint. read full story / add a comment

"The Green Wave is a touching documentary which shows the dramatic events of the Green Revolution in Iran in 2009. The film uses a collage of footage taken from mobile phones and cameras carried by people involved in the street protests along with face book and Twitter entries, Youtube clips, blog material and animation and is a memorial to all those who died during the extreme suppression carried out by government militias." read full story / add a comment

Maxine Kaufmann-Lacousta: Canadian and Israeli, activist and writer, Maxine has been involved in activism for justice in Palestine and Israel, either part-time or fulltime most of her life. She has visited the area regularly for extended periods since the 60’s and lived in Jerusalem in the 80’s and 90’s, working with the Alternative Information Center. She saw the error of Zionism after her first visit to Israel as a teenager with a Zionist youth organization in 1960. She was instrumental in bringing about international support for the Jahalin Bedouin, fighting their cause in the courts and practically by staying with them, as protector and witness to threats from Israeli bulldozers. read full story / add a comment
