Breaking News. Not reported by mainstream media or RTE. The Berlin rally against Covid-19 restrictions on Aug 1st had 1.3 million people turn up !!!! -How come we never heard about this? At the rally for 29th Aug, there are 2 million expected
This is a report back from Health Freedom Ireland (HFI) on the protest organised by HFI in conjunction with the Yellow Vests at the Customs House Dublin on Aug 22nd. Given Covid is about the only thing in the news these days and happens to be the single most important issue of our time because of the way civil liberties have been taken away from the bulk of humanity, it is therefore prudent we give it the proper coverage and not the biased negative spin from the mainstream media. Large numbers (estimated at around 6k) turned up for the peaceful protest against oppressive government restrictions and mandates over COVID-19 on Saturday, August 22nd at Customs House, Dublin. The non-political event was organised by Health Freedom Ireland and Yellow Vest Ireland to voice concerns regarding government mandates, demanding transparency, proportionality of decisions and accountability by government officials and advisors. read full story / add a comment

Today we are reproducing a press release from the Socialist Party on Covid-19 with our own comments added because the Left in general along with all the opposition parties has completely swallowed the Covid-19 is a deadly pandemic narrative hook, line and sinker. On another story soon, we will address the why. In the meantime from their perspective protecting workers rights and health is the natural thing to do but they seem confused by the sudden concern by the government for people. We offer a different perspective that explains things in a more consistent way, read full story / add a comment

On April 18th Clare Daly highlight the hypocritical actions of the government where they had imposed a severe lockdown everyone and closed many businesses because of their concern to stop the spread of Covid. Yet in the middle of all this they flew in hundreds of workers from Bulgaria to work for a company that has had very favourable treatment from Fine Gael. Her statement appeared on her facebook page and received many comments. The statement in presented in full here and an attempt is to made to reconcile the what is going on. read full story / add a comment

Never before in the history of the world has there been such a massive and widespread shutdown of the economy for as long as for this Covid-19 scare. As of today April 21st it has been more or less shutdown for a month and the politicians instead of doing their usual and saying we will be out of this soon are saying we need to continue it indefinitely and even when the lockdown is lifted, it will only be gradual return to normality. Clearly everyone is worried and a lot depends on how long this lockdown continues for. The question is not whether the economy both here in Ireland and globally will be damaged but more by how much. This is an important question because real lives depend on what happens in it Here we attempt to assess where we are, what has happened and what logic dictates are some of the possible outcomes. read full story / add a comment

The current shutdown of the economy and lockdown of society all around the world is unprecedented and it is very clear that the media are talking up the number and trying to instil panic and fear in the people. This is true not just in Ireland but everywhere else. What all the media reports have in common is that not a single one of them puts the numbers into perspective. All we see are league tables of infections and deaths for this country and others and how it is all going to get worse. Update: The common flu causes up to 5 million cases of severe illness worldwide and kills up to 650,000 people every year, according to the World Health Organization

From fast food workers getting organised to fight for a living wage, to Uber drivers fighting a company infamous for its use of bogus self-employment models, to McDonalds’ workers in the US saying ‘No More’ to sexual harassment, a section of workers traditionally seen as “hard to organise” are proving their willingness to fight. Katia Hancke looks at what this trend represents. read full story / add a comment
dublin / environment / press release Wednesday June 28, 2017 23:16 by fie
Environmental group reacts to court ruling that grants ryanair leave to participate in runway challenge The High Court today allowed ryanair to participate in a legal challenge being taken by Friends of the Irish Environment against Fingal County Council's decision to extend the permission granted in 2007 for a third runway at Dublin Airport. ryanair, which originally opposed the third runway, now supports it and came to court claiming it had a financial interest in the runway going ahead. FIE Director Tony Lowes commented: "We are deeply concerned that ryanair, a company which denies the existence of climate change has now been accepted as a party to these proceedings. We are concerned that the court’s decision will skew the proceedings away from the environmental impacts of aviation towards commercial considerations. read full story / add a comment

RTE broadcast an unforgivable and totally unjustifiable libel on Fr Michael Reynolds. They broadcast on air an untrue allegation that he fathered a child with a child in Africa - despite his offer to undergo a paternity test. He took them to court and rightfully to the cleaners.
Now RTE are subject to a Broadcasting authority of Ireland enquiry as well as one undertaken by the Press Ombudsman, Professor John Horgan.
Who has ridden over the ridge to to proclaim all that is holy in journalism? None other than Eoghan Harris, and his newspaper, the Sunday Independent.
Harris wants Ed Mulhall, RTE's head of news, sacked (20th November). Harris has been attacking Mulhall for years. Who knows what for and who cares, just for the moment. read full story / add a comment

Nicolas Sarkozy's presidential decree ordering the expulsion of Roma gypsies from the French state is currently being carried out. It marks another milestone on an age old road of antiziganism (the hostility, prejudice or racism directed at the Roma / Romani people, also known gypsies or Romanian gypsies. An age old road tread in Europe which has not yet brought them early 20th century literacy rates. An age old road which has seen them pass & passed through camps, squatted sites, the Holocaust, forced sterilization & in this age of Facebook ryanair globalisation their prettiest children have become the fodder for 21st century sexual slavery. read full story / add a comment
clare / anti-war / imperialism / news report Saturday December 19, 2009 10:42 by RSF
The very idea that the future of Shannon Airport should be dependent on American conflict around the world is the latest U turn from the Green Party in Clare, a spokesman for Republican Sinn Fein said today. Paddy Kenneally from Crusheen, a party spokesman in North Clare said that the latest statement by the Green Party Councillor Brian Meany in relation to the future of Shannon Airport is an insult to all the Irish people who have campaigned against imperialism and American military expansionism. To say that more American troop carrying planes should transit Shannon Airport and that the Airport should go after this business is an appalling statement to make. read full story / add a comment

The past week has shown the extent to which Shannon airport has been deliberately run down as a civilian airport and turned into a US military airbase. I spent over two hours there each day, Wed 4th, Friday 6th and Sunday 8th. During these times, the number of aircraft tansiting the airport associated with the US military exceeded civilian passenger aircraft. Aer Lingus, ryanair and Air France are gradually abandoning services from Shannon while its use as a military airbase is increasing. read full story / add a comment

The monthly peace vigil at Shannon on Sunday 13 Sept took place on a beautiful Indian Summer's day when nature seemed to be at peace with itself. However, a closer look inside the airport fence showed very few civilian planes, with Aer Lingus cut backs on Shannon services, Air France/CityJet about to abandon its Shannon Paris route, and ryanair also planning schedule cutbacks. There was plenty of military activity however, with four warplanes surrounded by Gardai and Airport Police. read full story / add a comment |
