National Water Charge Protests - Saturday 31st Jan 2015
Community Groups will protest across Ireland

Community Groups around Ireland will protest in towns, cities and villages across Ireland about the water charges on Saturday 31 January. Seek them out and join them!

The government are still planning to privatize Irish Water. If and when this happens, then extra charges will be brought in for your waste water as well. This will be estimated to be equal what goes into your house. After the next election, the government will allow the charges to go up to the target amount of at least €400 to €600 per year per household. This means every time you shower, flush a toilet, clean your hands, wash your clothes, wash your dishes, it will cost you. In poorer areas this will lead to people flushing their toilets less and washing less and cleaning their clothes less and will become a public health issue over the longer run. We must stop this madness now and affirm that water is recognised as a human right and that the Irish government abolish domestic water charges. Please spread the word.

If you care about the future of water for yourself and your children then get out there and make your voice heard on Saturday 31st Jan

Central to this practice is an investigation of the local as a discourse articulated through institutions, artists, art schools, and bureaucracies. Here, the so-named ‘complex’ implicates the psychological, social, and often incidental relationships that form a local scene. For Venice, The Metropolitan Complex sites a Pavilion on the grounds of the Scuola di San Pasquale as an experiment in nationality, history and finding one’s place. read full story / add a comment
