Young Fine Gael (YFG) has had its call to oppose the immediate lifting of the Arms Embargo on China unless a wide number of conditions are meet , endorsed by the Youth of the European People’s Party (YEPP). This is another step forward in the campaign against the lifting of the Arms Embargo as YEPP represents the youth wings of over 2 million young people and over 50 political parties across Europe, including the French UMP, the German CDU, and Forza Italia. read full story / add a comment

The evaluation of teachers’ performance and teaching and learning methods is necessary and has the purpose of being a basis for continuous improvement of education and the dialogue between teachers and students. The process of continuous evaluation of the quality of education is indispensable when it comes to ensuring high quality education, and should thus be guaranteed by education authorities and school management. Evaluation of quality with the aim to assess the standard of education should be accompanied by clear and binding guidelines concerning the involvement of all stakeholders in education when the initiation, execution, interpretation of results and the follow-up of an evaluation are concerned. In order for the evaluation of teachers’ performance, teaching and learning methods to serve its purpose, the results of the evaluation must be followed up and used as a part of further development of schools and education. read full story / add a comment

In its annual March 8th message the Irish Republican Socialist Party has hit out against the Turkish Regimes state forces, during what can only be described as a brutal assault on protesters over this years International Working Women’s Day demonstrations, at which least 70 people were beaten and arrested. read full story / add a comment

Haiti is the poorest country on the Western Hemisphere and its all history is one of foreign intervention and looting, from colonial times until its republican period. Last year Haiti celebrated the 200th anniversary of its existence; not a minor celebration, as Haiti was the first Latin American country to gain its independence and represented the first step to the abolition of slavery.
