A huge United States navy guided missile destroyer once again sits at the quays in Cobh at the centre of Cork Harbour, her presence causing the closure for the third time in six months of the popular local walking path known as the Five Foot Way. read full story / add a comment

A publication called Centre Focus is a regular newspaper funded by FAS. It uses as an office the Centre for The unemployed North Main st.

The building is owned by Cork Council of Trade unions. In a series of tabloid style articles it has raised concerns about sterotyping and attackiing those that are involved in progressive activist work and in particular the greater understanding between different ethnic and religous groups.

Many complaints have been made about its editorial style but why is it not being discussed on a wider format.? read full story / add a comment

On Tuesday 24th of October University College Cork's International Relations Society (IRSOC) had an information stand in ArŠs Na Mac Leinn to coincide with UN day. On Thursday 29th September WCPAG had another line up of interesting and informative speakers at a well-attended event at the Parkway Hotel in Dunmanway. 350 people took to the streets in Cork on Saturday in a solidarity march with
the national demonstration in Dundalk called by the Irish Palestine Solidarity
Campaign and the Irish Anti War Movement..
The local march was organised by the IPSC, Cork Alliance Against War - The Cork
affiliate of the Irish Anti War Movement, and Anti War Ireland.
