A meeting between activists from several different local campaigns and political groups has called for a protest on Thursday evening at the Grangegorman depot, starting at 5 pm, during the city-centre commercial collection runs. This has since been endorsed by the steering committee. Campaign chairman, Dermot Connolly, announced it to an enthusiastic reception at the rally outside the Dail on Tuesday evening. read full story / add a comment

30 protestors have been blockading a bin truck in south Finglas for the last while. This is the biggest turnout so far in the Finglas area and is in one of the strongest area for the campaign there. The blockade is completely peaceful and non-confrontational. The council official arrived and told the protestors that he would have to call the police. They are expected to arrive shortly. read full story / add a comment
