Athletes, trainers, mammies and daddies and fans from many parts of the world - notably Africa, Poland, England, Scotland, France and the USA - gathered for a cross-country running meet in St Fechins' GAA grounds in Termonfeckin today. The meeting kicked off at 12.00 noon with underage races. February 1st, St Brigid's Day, marked the day when Shell announced obscene annual profits of 20 Billion Euro, while the communities they fleece pay the ultimate price of environmental destruction and death, all around the world. Our government pumps for Shell but we're gonna stop them. St Brigid's Well, Liscannor, Co Clare is a site of annual open-air religious service on that day and Clare Shell to Sea were there to greet the pilgrimage makers. On Friday night, February 2nd, The Ruaille Buaille World Music Dance Club held a fundraiser for Clare Shell to Sea in Scariff, East Clare.
