In September 2008, AIMSI (Association for Improvement in Maternity Services Ireland) ran an electronic survey asking women a number of questions and for their comments relating to their experience of “rooming in” in Irish maternity hospitals. The survey received a large response, where 266 women voluntarily submitted their observations. All respondents were self selecting and anonymous.
