The Dublin Shell to Sea Table Quiz is organised for Thursday the 13th of July in Doyle's Pub (opposite Trinity College, near Pearse Street Garda Station). It runs from 8pm to 11pm and teams of 4 will compete in ten rounds of questions. Residents in the locality have been warned that a dangerous, experimental raw quiz is planned to be installed in the area. The questions will be odourless, and at many times the pressure of a normal quiz. In the event of raffle, everyone in the audience might win a prize. And on foot of that attractive advertisement, I bravely went.............. ... read full story / add a comment

Today's Sunday Independent carries two advertisements seeking to recruit Irish people to work as Sales Representatives for a company, apparently called 'Exchange', whose sole function is to sell cars, motorbikes and utility vehicles to US military personnel serving abroad. These particular adverts are looking for people to service the US war machine in Iraq, Kuwait and the Middle East in general. Those employed will be based on US military facilities in Iraq and Kuwait. Prospective applicants are directed to a website, which carries the company motto: 'The only overseas car-buying program created by the [US] military, for the military'. It is a disgrace that an Irish newspaper is carrying advertisements recruiting civilians to service the US war machine in Iraq. Those who consider applying should bear in mind that they will be viewed in Iraq as servants of the US military and their lives will be at grave risk. Holding Irish citizenship will make no difference. ... read full story / add a comment

Every time I have visited Shannon airport in recent months there have been suspicious US aircraft at the airport. However, the Gardai and Irish Defence Forces, have not been investigating the likely criminal use of Shannon airport reasons of torture and unlawful mass murder in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have been overtly and covertly protecting international criminals as they pass through Shannon airport. ... read full story / add a comment |
