The Guardian is one of the few papers to report this story amid all of the war justification hype. Her emails to her family illustrate life under the illegal and brutal Israeli occupation "I don't know if many of the children here have ever existed without tank-shell holes in their walls and the towers of an occupying army surveying them constantly from the near horizons. I think, although I'm not entirely sure, that even the smallest of these children understand that life is not like this everywhere. We'll take the fries and the coke, but hold the moral righteous gush about ridding the world of evil. For that those hypocrites in Washington would have to shut down their arms industries and stop the corporate raiding of the rest of the world.
