I've been an advocate of providing balance in this area in the schools for years. By the time the kids get out they are already brainwashed into a life of animal rights ignoring. Hopefully the schools will accept your program in spite of the PR budgets of the vested interests concerned. Kids should understand the horrors that are behind many of the everyday foodstuffs and animal tested cosmetic and kitchen products on their shelves.
Might I recommend this award winning site to your program. I think it addresses some aspects in a child friendly and humourous fashion:
As a teacher, I know that the vast majority of my students in senior cycle are not only ignorant, but apathetic about the world which surrounds them. I'd love to see this programme take off and hopefully it will lead to other programmes about human rights (ie: consumerism and the effect on child labour etc etc.) The fact that AR group(s) are leading the way does not surprise me in the slightest. I just hope that this works and that others follow suit.Trust officers on Wild Time Radiohttp://www.indymedia.ie/article/95781#comment2652292010-02-13T23:40:42+00:00Irish Animal Education Trust
