Anarchists organised a number of bookfairs, titled 'radical bookfair' in the early 90's which some members of wsm actually participated in. they were held in a few venues around temple bar including connolly hall.Whoops!http://www.indymedia.ie/article/74661#comment1412702006-03-06T11:38:34+00:00JohnThat should have read WSM not SWM.
Audio interviews above were good too but must be noted of all the 8 and a bit minutes of it not one single woman was interviewed. I was very surprised by that, there were woman attending the event, there were women heavily involved in the organising and there were plenty of women running stands and workshops.

Yikes, we have a bit of a way to go yet I think.Great weekendhttp://www.indymedia.ie/article/74661#comment1412832006-03-06T13:16:37+00:00JoeIt was a good weekend and the Jack White branch did a good job in both the organ...It was a good weekend and the Jack White branch did a good job in both the organisation and dealing with the technical problems that arose on the morning. A lot of people who were not WSM members also helped out with the kitchen crew deserving special mention.

In terms of numbers I'd guess between 400 and 500 people were in at some point over the weekend but probably no more than 150 at any one time. The largest meeting was the republicanism and anarchism one, amazingly just under 50 managed to cram into the room (which only had room for 36 chairs). The people I asked mostly thought the level of discussion at the meetings was very good.

I'd say that not only is the potential there for this to become an annual event but it could become a very big annual event. My branch should be organising it next year.

Be interesting to also hear report backs from individual stalls, workshops, meetings and the video team. It would be useful when we come to look at how we will organise things next year.Audio reporthttp://www.indymedia.ie/article/74661#comment1412842006-03-06T13:23:31+00:00listenerJust listened to the audio report there, have to agree with clare, also there ar...Just listened to the audio report there, have to agree with clare, also there are a couple of voices on it that are always "the" voice of anarchism, heard them so many times, would have been good to hear people who had just wandered in or first timers so see if they thought it was any good.Interestinghttp://www.indymedia.ie/article/74661#comment1412882006-03-06T13:50:32+00:00Lucky JimIt seems this event was twice as big as the SWP's Marxism, though in fairness th...It seems this event was twice as big as the SWP's Marxism, though in fairness they charged an entrance fee.really great weekendhttp://www.indymedia.ie/article/74661#comment1412972006-03-06T14:32:44+00:00dunkfuspey at yahoo dot co dot ukevent was great,

sat was really enjoyable, really good atmosphere without the clickeness of past events, a lot of different people felt this ; well done to all who organised, turned up, talked with new people, had a laugh, dreamed.......

great to meet heads; new and old, irish, from abroad
