We all know where this is going.

Perhaps oil is scarce because WE have used it all up before china even came on the scene
WE being mainly the US.

This is propaganda softening us up for blaming china for everything wrong in our lives once oil goes up.

Little mention of how speculation on wall street pushes up the price of oil artificially or how curiously the price of oil can drop during a US election or when oil producing adversaries such as Iran / Russia / Venezuela need to be pressured.fuel costhttp://www.indymedia.ie/article/102296#comment2916892012-08-21T08:56:41+00:00DriverShudder the thought that the US might have to pay $9 for a gallon by 2017 when t...Shudder the thought that the US might have to pay $9 for a gallon by 2017 when the price in Ireland is already heading for $10
When oil was at 145 dollars a barrel it was much cheaper per litre.
How much are they paying you Kenny?every fuel increase..http://www.indymedia.ie/article/102296#comment2916922012-08-21T10:09:54+00:00opus diablos..provides the multiplier % tax dividend.
My ESB/Bord Gosh bill just arrived........provides the multiplier % tax dividend.

My ESB/Bord Gosh bill just arrived...E10.90 for actual units..the rest of the E38.99 is various creative accountancy 'charges'.

Roll on the fucking winter...and the budget. And with food set to escalate(but its good for the export economy)I think I'll have to polish a knife and fork and set a banker-trap before Spring.

Or maybe a Rabbitte snare...major banquet there..seeing as I've no freezer.they charge you for using too little!! Ridiculous!!http://www.indymedia.ie/article/102296#comment2917002012-08-21T14:50:26+00:00leftySame here.
The Electricity standing charges are ludicrous.

The bit that really pisses me off:

You get a low usage charge. i.e. you pay more per unit if you don't use enough electricity

Surely the idea should be to reward people who don't generate more CO2????

Madness. But profitable at the expense of the less well offsoftening up for military actions in the pacifichttp://www.indymedia.ie/article/102296#comment2917012012-08-21T15:13:07+00:00T-BirdNo mention of oversized gas guzzling car use all across the US for the last 50 y...No mention of oversized gas guzzling car use all across the US for the last 50 years. Just china.
How convenient! This kind of bullshit softening up for military action propaganda is really annoying.
We've seen it a few times now.
We're not all completely stupid y'know!

I'm sure we could pluck plenty of curved graphs with just US oil use activity on them from out of our asses!!

The USA used / is using up most of the oil for 50 years+. No problem. But China is starting to use quite a bit recently. Therefore suddenly, big problems, and Its all china's fault. Typical propaganda bullshit.

The USA military buildup in the pacific region and activity in africa is frightening.

say, I wonder how encircling the US with huge military bases and cutting off their supply routes, imposing embargos, biting sanctions, then maybe invading and nuking the US would affect the curve??

The graph correctly states $240.high fuel prices are being used to get money to give to crooked banks and bondholders while small business in the country is being strangledhttp://www.indymedia.ie/article/102296#comment2917412012-08-22T20:09:47+00:00FuckEndaapparently india's electricity problems are largely responsible for the hike in ...apparently india's electricity problems are largely responsible for the hike in fuel prices here heading towards 1.80 per litre.
Yet it's only 1.00 per litre there. Go figure!!

someone is cleaning up on and making fools of us with this.

Enda Kenny is not pushing for proper fuel price regulation because the government cut is a % of cost. He wants it to go up.

He doesn't really care if it makes the economy completely uncompetitive for smaller businesses and haulage firms due to ridiculous transport costs.

He doesn't care about small businesses full stop. Case in point the bank lending report which highlights the fact that getting a bank loan is twice as difficult here than average in Europe. They knew this was going on but still they keep feeding money into the banks, never to be seen again. They are colluding against the citizens of this country along an ultra right wing agenda.

The so called "bailouts" are a lie. None of that money ever gets into our economy to stimulate it. It's just handing money to useless banks to pay their obscene wages, bonuses and investors and use to speculate on markets. Loaning money is no longer part of their actual business model.

As another poster remarked, they are even systematically turning overdraft facilities into term loans and counting it as new lending to inflate the lending figures. As a consequence, the report is probably underestimating the figures.
