Republican Network for Unity (RNU) Chairperson/Cathaoirleach, DANNY MCBREARTY has slammed the disturbing increase in RUC/PSNI harassment across the Six Counties as, ‘state terrorism’.

Speaking today Mr. McBrearty said; “Recent raids across the North have again highlighted the total disregard the ‘reformed’ RUC have for human rights. During one raid in Belfast on Monday, they forced their way into a business premises and stole money belonging to the dependants of Political Prisoners.

While in Derry, the British Police assaulted and subsequently threw a disabled RNU member to the ground outside a Doctor’s surgery in the city. Also in Derry ,the most outrageous of all, occurred yesterday when the RNU/PSNI were conducting further raids on people's homes, made a young girl strip and left her standing in her underwear only to have to be traumatised further by having to endure an intimate body search. These physical assaults MUST stop.

RNU request Church Leaders, Politicians and Human Rights Organisations meet with those families directly affected by Political Policing and hear their plight”.
