‘European Union: friend or foe for Ireland's economic recovery?’
Mick O’Reilly, one of Ireland’s most respected trade union leaders, will content that “the EU-IMF bailout and government’s four year plan will copper fasten the stranglehold of EU and international finance on the Irish economy to the extent that it threatens to undermine the productive and profitable sectors of the economy”.

Also speaking will be Dr. Mary Murphy, lecturer in Irish politics and society of NUIM’s sociology department. Dr. Murphy’s work at NUIM and her doctoral thesis ‘Domestic Constraints on Globalisation: A Case study of Irish Social Security Policy 1986-2006’ has brought her to prominence among innovative thinkers and social activists.
