Ireland in crisis: What can be done?

category dublin | rights, freedoms and repression | event notice author Tuesday November 23, 2010 00:02author by Direct Democracy Ireland - Direct Democracy Ireland

Direct Democracy Ireland would like to invite you to our next open meeting, which we are holding in the Central Hotel, Dublin at 8pm on Wednesday 24th November.

The goal of DDI is to create a mechanism by which all the voters of a constituency will select a candidate to represent their wishes.

The candidates selected by this mechanism will be DDI candidates.

If elected, these representatives will bring back each bill or other proposal for decision to the constituency structure. They will be obliged to abide by the decisions of this structure on every issue or proposal that go through the Dail or local council.

DDI will campaign to write Direct Democracy into the Irish constitution.

For those of you who have already attended one of our open meetings or would like to help out in the practical work we are holding an activist meeting in the Central on Thursday night (25th) at 7pm.

I think you have to study the argentinian experience of direct democracy in 2001-2002. This experience may be was short in time, but very rich, very very rich. Now you can continue this experience from where we left it.
Good luck and a better world for all of us.
Maikel
PD: I wil send you some material about that experience.
