REPUBLICAN NETWORK for UNITY (R.N.U.) Cathaoirleach/Chairperson, DANNY MCBREARTY has expressed his support for this Wednesday’s march against Garda brutality in Dublin.

One of the RNU Activists present at the protest commented; "We were genuinely shocked to observe peaceful demonstrators assaulted in such a brutal manner. Regrettably, scores of protestors were badly injured with one woman being knocked unconscious. Our Network waits with interest, as to how the Department of Justice will deal with the vicious behaviour of the Gardaí. After all, there is certainly enough video footage of these unwarranted assaults."

Mr. McBrearty concluded; “The Republican Network for Unity is completely against the re-introduction of third-level fees. As Irish Republicans, we demand free education for all Irish citizens, as is their right. We cannot permit a two-tier educational system and deny college education to citizens who will find the financial burden of increased fees too much to bear. RNU also encourage everyone who opposes higher fees on Students and Police brutality to display their resistance at this Wednesday’s demonstration”.
