Dr Donal Ó Drisceoil lectures in History at UCC. He is the author or co-author of a number of books. He is the editor of Saothar: Journal of Irish Labour History. He was historical advisor on the award-winning film, The Wind that Shakes the Barley. He is currently completing a history of media and literary censorship in 20th-century Ireland and a political biography of Tadhg Barry, the subject of his paper.
