Dual-language reading from New Collection
Charlie Byrne's Bookshp, Middle Street, Galway, played host to French poet, Colette Wittorski.
Reading from the collection, 'Northern Lights', published by Lapwing Poetry, Brittany-based poet Colette Wittorski recited her work, with accompanying translations by Fred Johnston. Colette Wittorski, who had never been in Ireland before, travelled with her daughter and son-in-law for the event, which will be mirrored in a similar launch and reading in Brittany later this Summer.
The Western Writers' Centre wishes to thank all at Charlie Byrne's for their efforts.
Meanwhile, a just-published draft Galway development strategy includes a commitment to find suitable promises for The Western Writers' Centre, which, operating eight years, is the only such centre in the City.
