![]() @ Friday, 12 February 2010- 9:47am: "Déirdre de Búrca has announced that she has resigned from the Green Party and Seanad Éireann." From: http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/0212/deburcab.html [What a laugh, hee hee. What a week for the Muppets! First George (RTE chief economist who had no idea how political parties work!). And now the erstwhile "Left"-looking current Deirdre The Hypocrite deBurca resigns. There's rumours around Buswells that she's realised "capitalism IS the problem and she's joined Eirigi” ... ah no only messing! But I wonder will the bourgeoisie "responsible party of government in waiting" softly softly Labour Party have her? |

"Unfortunately the effect of this unwillingness to act is that the Green Party has been slowly haemhorraging support because of a growing public perception that we have lost the courage of our convictions and have become no more than an obedient 'add-on' to Fianna Fail. For example, I am aware that you as Minister have a key report in front of you from Dr Niamh Brennan on the issue of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority. I'm afraid I lack the confidence that the findings of this report will be acted on in the timely and appropriate manner that the public interest requires."
what's in the report we wonder, which journo can get the scoop on a leak of it?
In May 2009 Deirdre de Burca said:
'The pity about Patricia McKenna's move is that she did not do it at least a year ago and spare herself and her party colleagues a lot of time-wasting and strife. It has been increasingly clear that she does not share the same views on many issues with Green Party members'.
Ho hum!
