On a cold but sunny Saturday (January 2nd 2010), over 30 Palestine solidarity activists attened a vigil for Gaza on Patrick's Bridge in Cork City.
The action, organised by members and supporters of the Cork branch of the IPSC, was aimed at showing support for the besieged people of Gaza a year on from the Israeli attack that left over 1,400 Palestinians dead and further ruined the lives of people in the region. It was also a show of solidarity with the Gaza Freedom Marchers and the Viva Palestina aid convoy. According to Deirdre, one of the participants: "Spirits were high and the energy strong! We spoke to people as they walked by, enjoyed cars honking and children waving. 200 leaflets were distributed."
Thanks to all who went along and organised it.
