A protest vigil will be held on Patrick's Bridge in Cork at 2pm on Sunday, 27 December, to mark the beginning of last year's Gaza massacre and in solidarity with the 'Viva Palestina' aid convoy which is currently stranded on the Jordan/Egyptian border.
Bring Palestine solidarity placards and Palestinian flags.
A vehicle from Cork and several local particpants are among those on the convoy which is planning to bring aid to the besieged Gaza territory via the Rafah crossing tomorrow. However, it is currently unclear whether they will be allowed to proceed as the Egyptian government is refusing them permission to make the final leg of the journey to the Egypt/Gaza border.
We ask all concerned anti-war activists to make their voices heard by contacting the Egyptian embassy in Dublin and insisting on safe passage for this humanitarian convoy.
We also urge everybody to take part in the solidarity actions that are being spontaneously organised across Ireland.
Please join the vigil in Cork and spread the word!
