It's at the entrance to Terryland Forest Park which is about half way across the Quincintennial Bridge between the inner Roundabout on the Headford Road and the junction at the opposite side of the bridge at Newcastle.

Information about the park is at http://friendsoftheterrylandforest.blogspot.com/

This clean-up operation will be part of a new initiative known as 'Glan' agreed between the 'Friends of the Forest' campaign group and Galway City Council in the form of their Environmental Education Officer (Sharon Carroll) and the City Parks manager (Stephen Walsh).

Gloves and bags will be provided.

'Glan' will consist of high-profile public clean ups operating under the auspices of Galway City Council that will each month focus in on different public spaces across the city including Merlin Woods, Barna Woods, parklands and our seashores. This initiative was inspired by the annual international 'Beach Watch' programme that in Galway is so successfully managed by Atlantaquaria.

Glan represents a first step in a new annual environmental partnership programme that will also over the next few months hopefully witness the re-engagement of schools, colleges, neighbourhoods, community groups and the general public with the natural heritage of our city via tree planting days, community arts events in the parks and regular educational nature studies and tours of our forests and woods.
