Petrol bomb thrown at Dept. of Finance

Last night a man wearing dark clothes threw a petrol bomb through the window of the Dept. of Finance on Merrion Street in Dublin. There was little damage done to the building itself, although the window was smashed and the window-frame was seriously damaged.

There have been no arrests, and no one has claimed responsability. It did not appear to be an organised attack, and was almost certainly an isolated incident. But a question arrises; was this the work of a politically motivated individual, or a desperate attempt to vent anger and frustration.

The Gardai are currently investigating the attack
