Remember the Brave Monks of Burma
Burma Action Ireland will hold a public event calling for Peace and Democracy in Burma
“REMEMBER THE BRAVE MONKS OF BURMA”
Join us on International Peace Day 2009 in commemorating the “Saffron Revolution” in Burma in September 2007.
The peaceful protests led by Buddhist Monks were savagely repressed by the military dictatorship. Many monks and
members of the public were killed or injured, while many others were arrested. Many of those arrested are still detained in
inhuman conditions at risk of torture, including monks and nuns.
BAI will hold a public event calling for a peaceful and democratic Burma from 4.30 pm to 6.30 p.m. on Monday 21 September
at the traffic island on O’Connell Bridge, Dublin.
All supporters are urged to take part.
Please feel free to wear or bring symbols of peace to the event.
