BEAL NA BLATH, Cork. – The revamped Collins 22 Society website launches today with many enhanced features and a totally new redesigned look. The society hopes to extend the reach of the website by providing information about General Michael Collins and the work of the society to a broader international audience.

New features of particular note include; expanded content, streaming media, new navigational tools, site-wide searchability and a completely new set of communications tools such as online membership signup, newsletter signup and campaign involvement. The media section of the site is enhanced with original video content streaming and image gallery slideshow facilities.

“We are very happy with the advances we have made to the website ” said Bill Martin, National Organiser, Collins 22 Society. “And hope it rewards our returning visitors with a whole new experience, as well as attracting many more new visitors from around the world, such is the interest in General Michael Collins.”

The new website launch coincides with the launch of an International Investment Fund to finance the production of a four-part documentary series.

“Michael Collins raised an enormous amount of money, in the most extraordinary of circumstances, to fund Ireland’s Independence, today we are raising two hundred and fifty thousand euros, to secure his memory for future generations ” said Martin Dunne, National UK Organiser, Collins 22 Society. “With each passing year, the rich oral history that exists about Michael Collins and this highly significant period in Irish History slips away. We want to preserve as much of this oral history as possible, and integrate it into a contemplative work that produces the definitive documentary on the Life of Michael Collins.”

The documentary series entitled “Path To Freedom” will function as both a fitting tribute and factual narrative, and is certain to appeal to anyone with a general interest in Irish History, and more specifically to everyone with an interest in the great leaders and revolutionaries of our time.
