Colombian activist Carmen Luisa Castro and journalist Michael McCaughan talk about the struggle of Colombian social movements against state and paramilitary terror.

Carmen Luisa Castro is the co-ordinator for Christian Aid’s work with grassroots civil society movements in Colombia. She will be speaking alongside Irish journalist Michael McCaughan who has recently returned from a research trip to Colombia. They will be talking about the challenges facing grassroots social movements in Colombia as they try to organize opposition to an unjust economic order in the face of state and paramilitary terror.
This public meeting is part of the global justice training event hosted by Galway One World Centre and Bloom: Movement for Global Justice. Carmen Luisa Castro will also be speaking at the one-day development education course on Saturday June 13th.
