Ongoing Prison Vigil at Mountjoy

Support for Maura at Mountjoy Jail

Maura Harrington's husband Naoise is not allowed to visit her every day while she is locked up in Mountjoy Prison. He is instead remaining outside the gates of the jail and teling passers-by what is happening between the visits he is allowed.

Many cars are beeping as they go by and many people are stopping to take leaflets and chat.

He will be there until at least 6PM today.

Support from anyone in the area is welcome.

We would like to know why Naoise is not allowed to visit Maura, and why he is on crutches. Are her children allowed to visit?

Visits are rationed so. They put her in a jail right across the country from her home, for maximum nuisance. What is the cause of Naoise's crutches?

Love & solidarity to Maura, Naoise, Shell to Sea campaigners, & all defenders of human rights in Ireland. It's for all our sakes, & for our descendants', that they have endured so much for so long. Surely it's the Fianna Fáil criminal gang who should be incarcerated (on hard labour, I say!) for betraying the people they were elected to represent, & giving Shell so much of Ireland's natural resources for a song?

Full Support !!!

But why oh why are there so Many S2S threads AGAIN? Cant ye organise it better even for archive purposes? There was no need to open up yet another thread for this. The answer to why Naoise is on crutches can be found on another thread by the way. Good luck searching for it, but here is a clue- its in a utube video. Hopefully you will find it before it becomes more difficult. I believe I counted 11 threads on the go during the last successful blockade by protesters in rubber dinghies. Come on S2S!

Mount joy woman's prison (Dochas Centre) is more than 10% over capacity at the moment and any woman who is sentenced to less than 6 months is usually released within a day, why is she still there? - even if she were not offered early release she would be automatically released on filing an appeal against her conviction, why has she not appealed?
