Don't worry the Celtic League is NOT a racist/fascist organisation. In fact we would be very progressive on many issues such as environmental and military matters.

PROTRACTED DETENTION OF BRETONS CRITICISED

The protracted detention of a number of Breton prisoners was criticised
as being an abuse of International Law relating to the treatment of
prisoners at the Annual General Meeting of the Celtic League held
on the Isle of Man this weekend.

Breton delegates concerns were unanimously supported by delegates
from the other Celtic countries and the following resolution was adopted.

"This AGM of the Celtic League calls on the French State which signed
and ratified the basic UN and EU treaties, in the field of Human rights,
to respect International laws providing protection of political prisoners."

During the course of discussion the position of prisoners from other
minority groups within the French State such as Corsicans and Basques
was also highlighted.

The Secretary General of the League was asked to raise the situation
of the Breton detainees with the French Embassies in Dublin and London.
