DEFEND BUS SERVICES: SUPPORT THE BUS WORKERS
Dublin Bus drivers, members of the NBRU, are balloting over the next week for industrial action if the company press ahead with 160 threatened sackings.
And Dublin North West People Before Profit is organising a protest meeting on the cuts plan in Ballymun Thursday 5th February 8pm Axis Centre
pbp_poster.jpg

The National Bus and Rail Union is balloting over the next week for a mandate for strike action if Dublin Bus implement its cuts programme as it plans to from 28th February.

The cuts will mean the decimation of the bus service throughout the city and especially hitting Ballymun and Poppintree with the elimination of much of the service on the 13/13A route. The Finglas Ballymun SWP website broke the story and gave some of the details of the cuts planned read it by following this link. http://ballymunsocialist.wordpress.com/2009/02/04/as-du...kers/ Also check out the Dublin North West People Before Profit website for up to date info by following this link. http://pbpdnw.wordpress.com/

More incompetant cuts from Dublin Bus is on the cards . Hitting the most vulnerable citizens in our society .
Between dogmatic Inspectors checking drivers on their routes as the Drivers attempt to play catch up through traffic , gurriers to deal with , old persons
who are not as fast as they once were ( God Love Them ) The Drivers have it all to do , but it is expected from the ''Time And Motion Experts '' who are one
lick away from ''Management'' , and now as ever the Thanx is soon forgotten .

To attempt to make Drivers Redundant ,some figures are coming in at 600 and 270 Buses lying idle as the Country is already Going South is not on .
Support these Drivers and their families and show the Management your Solidarity with the workers , and their genuine cause for concern in relation to
these Hatchet ''Cuts '' .

While the Gangsters upstairs in their cosy office's wait for response from any action from the ordinary Passengers who use these particular routes
the Union are looking for assistance from the public , Do what you can, show the Drivers some respect and Help them Fight for their jobs and dont
treat them as if they meant nothing , they mean a lot to the public , Ignore their plight at your peril .

Despite the snow and sub-zero temperatures we had a successful meeting. Dublin Bus drivers addressed the meeting and described some of the dire effects the cuts will have on the service, plus of course the 160 sackings at the end of this month.
With others we are calling a protest in ballymun at the end of the month and launching a Ballymun Anti Cuts Campaign.
There's more detail, and documents on this site:- http://pbpdnw.wordpress.com/2009/02/07/busworkers-addre...cuts/
