Chief executive of the Irish Vintners Ass Tadgh O Sullivan has come out today and backed a proposal by publicans in Westport to impose a blanket ban on Travellers in Westport pubs. The language used by O'Sullivan to describe the travelling community is inexcusable.
"invasion", "terror", "violence" were just some of the words O'Sullivaan used to describe the Travelling Comm. Thomas Mc Cann of the Irish Traveller Movement described this proposal as illegal under the Equal Status Act.
He continued by asking "why aren't people being arrested for something by local gardai? The Chief Exec of the Vintners Ass said he would back other towns or villages who may also wish to impose this Blanker ban! Mr. O'Sullivan said he would go to jail to protect these publicans from "terrorist" travellers!

Not all travellers are bad people.Most of them are alright.
However,I will ask if anyone has ever lived near a)a traveller's site b)have youse ever been to Galway?
With respect to the last question,Galway is a refferal to one family,the notorious Ward family.
This lot have been involved in muggings,beatings,robbery,you name it.And they are stupid.They beat up people on Spanish Arch,just for the sake of it,like my kid brother.They gate crash parties,then ring up 50 of their mates,and smash the place up.
The cops don't do sheet cos they are afraid of them.They fear them cos a load of them know where their families live,and they know how to bring the law to their advantage.
My point?Maybe the vintners guy in Westport has experienced something similar?I think the above quote of "new world order,and poor little man" is a bit far fetched.And this stuff about islamicists and anarchists sticking togeter?Like fuck,do you think any muslim gives a toss about squat anarchists?
Again,I am not railing against travellers.However,dracxonian as the governments policy is,it is necessary to see the dynamics that have led people to this situation,so it can be dealt with better.Taking a 100% biased stance by comparing the pub owners to Mussolinis balckshirts is not bring forth any meaningful arguments that might otherwise help against this legislation.Aright?
I agree with the previous person about IOSEF'S comments. Of course all travellers aren't bad people. But if they wreck your pub, or even just give you a severe beating, and the guards say "arah its only the travellers, what do you want us to do?"; people do get a bit exasperated. And just coz the guy owns a pub doesn't automatically make him a part of a global capitalist conspiracy.
