Jerusalem: East Side Story
New series of films at the New Theatre (43 East Essex Street).
Directed by Muhammad al‐Atar. In 1948 the western part of Jerusalem, capital city of Palestine, was captured by zionists; in 1967 the eastern part was taken into Israeli occupation. Since then Israel has pursued “Jewish demographic superiority” in Jerusalem, as elsewhere, driving out Muslims and Christians and denying their history, identity, and land rights. This film includes interviews with Palestinian people, Israeli settlers, and human‐rights activists. A member of the Ireland‐Palestine Solidarity Campaign will introduce the film.
