RSF in Newry have rejected the claim of Fianna Fáil to be the 'Republican Party' following FF's recruitment attempt in South Armagh.

Following the recent 'tour' of South Armagh by recruiting agents for Fianna Fáil, the Joe Conway Cumann of Republican Sinn Féin in Newry called on the people of South Armagh to distance themselves from the party.

A spokesperson for the Joe Conway Cumann said “It is no surprise that the Fianna Fáil party continue to describe themselves as 'The Republican Party' in an attempt to dupe faithful residents of South Armagh into joining their discredited rabble.

“Would this be the same alleged 'Republican Party' who executed true Republicans, even importing the English hangman Pierrepoint to do the dirty deed?

“Is this not the same organisation which even today imprisons true Republicans in Portlaoise Gaol for the 'crime' of resisting British rule in Ireland?

“We call upon the noble people of South Armagh to reject this tawdry counterfeit 'Republican Party' and to support and join the only true Republican political organisation organised Nationally – Republican Sinn Féin.

“We are the only political body today who steadfastly oppose British rule in Ireland, whether directly from the English parliament at Westminster or the partition parliaments of Stormont and Leinster House. Our aim is a 32-County Democratic Socialist Republic. Join us in the struggle for it!”
