Pat Breen shows Fine Gael are still buying the Shell line

No mention of safety concerns or giveaway of resources

Pat Breen, Fine Gael TD from Bunratty, showed that he's been listening to the lies about natural resources, and he believes them, when he spoke about Corrib in the Dáil.

The sad thing is that his acceptance of the nonsense peddled by Shell and the Green Party means that instead of an opposition testing and challenging the government we have a docile and pointless group of placemen waiting for a chance to get into government simply to get a few things for their constituents and jobs for their friends.

He said:
"I welcome the Minister, Deputy Ryan, to the House and I am delighted he has stayed to hear the debate." Serious opposition there. The Green Party are obviously not worried about Fianna Fail going down the tubes because there will be a warm seat for them in government with Fine Gael.

But here's where Deputy Breen shows his almost forensic knowledge of the situation regarding Corrib gas:
"I also commend him for his first national energy efficiency action plan 2007-20. It is important we have the plan in place in order that, when our resources come on line, in particular the Corrib field, they are used as efficiently as possible. In that way we can become almost self-sufficient in gas."

"almost self-sufficient in gas"? In what way? By giving all the gas to Shell and Statoil? Everyone knows that Corrib will be more of a benefit to the Norwegian economy than the Irish economy, but all this fool can think about is pipelines reaching his constituency. He really believes that the Irish people will benefit from Corrib.

Don't think anything will change, in relation to Corrib or anything else, when there is a change of government.
