Peaceful protest against pollution of Irish rivers. Al protest at national Ploughing Championships.
On the 5th November, 2008, a conference was organised by the Irish Natural Forestry Foundation and was held at the Silversprings Hotel, Cork. A protest by forestry contractors was present at the the conference, claiming pollution of Irish rivers from the harvesting of timber. Strict legislation has been totally ignored (Criterion 6.5.4) where regular emptied silt traps must be installed to collect mud and silt flowing from the hillsides.
Another peaceful protest was held at the National Ploughing Championships on the 23rd September 2008. Photos of these protests are attached.
