HOPI London will host a meeting on October 8th: 7pm @ Kings' College Campus, The Strand, London which will be addressed by two leading members of the Iranian student organisation 'Iranian Students for Freedom and Equality' http://www.azady-barabary.org
This organisation was central to last December's inspirational anti-war, anti-regime demonstrations in Iran, which led to the arrest of over 70 activists. At these demonstrations, slogans such as "No to war! Death to the dictator", "The university is not an army garrison" and even "Hands Off The People of Iran!" which was inspired by the active solidarity of HOPI supporters in Europe.
The two comrades will be speaking alongside Torab Saleth - an exiled Iranian who was active in the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and now sits on the HOPI Steering Committee. Come along and hear the story of their brave struggles and how they are linked with struggles here in Britain for an end to wars, sanctions, occupations and threats. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Afterwards there will be an informal organising meeting in order to get to know each other better and look to cohere our campaigning work in the coming period. If you would like to help with building and leafleting for the event then please get in touch.
