Galway Cyclists AGM The Galway cycling Campaign is to hold its tenth Annual General Meeting on the 8th of September from 7 to 9pm in the new Social Space premises at 24 Middle Street.
Formed after a large public meeting in 1998, the Galway cycling Campaign (GCC) sees itself as a positive force for the city's cyclists and aims to promote the interests of ordinary everyday adult bicycle users. The GCC has had a very active year, dealing with significant cycling-related issues both locally and nationally. The GCC has also played a prominent role in developing a national representative body for commuter cyclists.
To help make cycling an attractive and popular transport option in Galway City and County, the GCC campaigns for cycling promotion measures under the headings of Education, Encouragement, Engineering, Enforcement and Evaluation.
New members, or anyone who may have projects to propose, are invited to attend. The GCC is looking for people to help organise the group's activities in all its areas of interest. Anyone who might like to get involved in an active or supportive capacity is being encouraged to attend the AGM.
