On Saturady & Sunday, the 9th & 10th of August a beach party will be held on Glengad beach to reclaim the beach from Shell who have currently divided the beach in two with a big security fence.
Alot of different events are planned for the days, so come and enjoy the beach the way it should be.

checked something up and you need a permit for to stage an event on a beach in glengad. Part 19 Local Government act 2001 ( Bye Laws ) Regulations 2006. if this is there i may go for a look as nice weather for the weekend.
You need a permit to build sandcastles and throw a beachball around?
I don't think so...
In relation to Glengad and permits - depends entirely on who's looking/demanding ...
Rossport Solidarity Camp gets kicked off because, according to Affidavit of one Karen Gaynor, it would take 15/16 years for the grasses to regenerate.
Meanwhile ... a couple of fields away ... $hell gets cead bhealaigh.
this weekend gathering could well have been developed further to make it the irish climate camp, perhaps next year it might be organised as such.
