Now the separation begins before there was none, now it has wings.....
Unfortunately, society as a whole is disenfranchised
...although I understand the hurt of men going through the system, King James 1 was a good example of one who used the system to divide and conquer, the methodology to cause infighting within his opposition. In this case the male and female.
If your "feminist" quotes on your site are designed to separate/pigeonhole your organisation as women haters...than it succeeded. These comments alienate alot of men who are not women haters (as alot of them have daughters, mothers, sisters themselves....)...perhaps one should look at rights as parents..not only men.
If we as men and women fight for the right of our children, not from the viewpoint of the framework the legal system as set out for us, but our own, then we have a better chance. The prepubesant sexualisation of children, abuse of their time being held in traffic jams while they see less and less of their parents due to the poor quality of life we have in Ireland. The failure of legislation to protect children in custody, in trouble and under threat from preditors are important issues.
I think the system is unfair to men, but it is equally so to women. To take individual cases and hold them up for the disimmenation of peoples rights based on the worst/hard case is extreme and playing into the hands of those who abuse mens rights to their children...
Men need a voice at this time to help them regain their solidarity, I think it would be a shame for men to direct their passion for change in the judicial system into separation towards their fellow women, when both men and women need each other to co-exist.
