Dr Carolus Wimmer, international secretary of the Communist Party of Venezuela and vice-president of the Latin American Parliament, gave the 2008 James Connolly Memorial Lecture in Dublin on the theme “The working class and the struggle against imperialism.”

After the meeting Carolus laid a wreath at Arbour Hill, where the remains of James Connolly and his comrades are laid.
