The third Guth Gafa documentary film festival is taking place on 15-18 May 2008 in Gort an Choirce in West Donegal.

The third Guth Gafa international documentary film festival takes place on 15-18 May in Gort an Choirce in the Donegal Gaeltacht. This year’s special guest is newly appointed executive director of Amnesty Ireland, Colm O Gorman, and both Amnesty and the Radharc Trust will be associated with a series of human rights related films. Other highlights include the premiére of The Flesh and the Devil, Dara McCluskey’s biopic of Patrick McCabe; a Polish film strand; Irish and Irish language premiéres and various masterclasses and seminars with our international guests, including a seminar on 'film-making for social change', and an associated seminar on activist films that features material and activists from the Rossport and Tara campaigns.

We have also added a child-care facility this year, a shuttle service between all festival locations, and a festival club in Ostán Loch Altan. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the visiting director.

Beidh an tríú fhéile scannáin faisnéise Guth Gafa ag tarlú idir an 15-18 Bealtaine i nGort an Choirce i nGaeltacht Thír Chonaill. Is é Colm O Gorman, nua-cheaptha mar stiúrthóir feidhmiúcháin Amnesty Ireland, a bheas i láthair mar aoí-speisialta. Beidh Amnesty agus An Iontaobhas Radharc gaolmhartha le roinnt scannáin ina bhfuil téama cearta daonna ann. Is iad na buaicphointí eile na an premiére de The Flesh and the Devil, biopic Dara McCluskey ar Patrick McCabe; sraith cláracha Polannacha, premiéres Éireannacha agus Gaeilge, maistír-ranganna agus seiminéair éagsúla le aíonna idirnaisiúnta, ina measc seiminéar ar 'film-making for social change', agus seiminéar bainte leis ar scannáin gníomhaí le ábhar agus gníomhaí as feachtais Ros Dumhach agus Teamhar i láthair.

Tá coras curam-phaistí againn i mbliana, seirbhís iompar idir na láithreacha éagsúla, agus club na féile in Óstán Loch Altan. Beidh seisiún Q&A leis na stiúrthóirí uilig i ndiaidh achan scannán.
