This year Zionists worldwide are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the state of Israel - a state founded on the ethnic cleansing, by murder and dispossession, in 1948 of hundreds of thousands of indigenous Palestinians. This was dubbed 'Al Nakba' - the catastrophe.
The nightmare for Palestinians continues today with Israeli military occupation, denial of human rights and a refugee existence. Palestinians have little to celebrate - Israel is an apartheid state guilty of war crimes. Representatives of Palestinian civil society have called on those concerned with human rights to draw attention to this appalling state of affairs. See: http://www.pacbi.org/index.php?id=P706
