The Chinese communist one party state has been responsible for tens of millions of deaths of its own people since 1949.
In 1989 peaceful protestors were gunned down and crushed under the threads of tanks in Tianaman Square.
Why do think it will be any different in Tibet?
The only thing these barbarian savages understand is military force.
Tibet will be vacated only if Tibetans launch a violent uprising and receive international support.
Anything else is useless.
I find it deeply unsettling that none of the Tibetan protestors have condemned the violence in Lhasa when protestors attacked Han Chinese and left 18 dead. Violence has to be condemned on all sides. Being hacked or burnt to death by a Tibetan monk is not a nice experience either.
I note also that pro Tibetan groups are not looking for democracy in Tibet but a return to Lamaism. Let us not forget that prior to 1959 slavery was rampant and legal in Tibet and serfs and peasants served the interests of the Lamas and warlords - yes warlords. For a more balanced view on Tibet please read the noted American historian and social commentator Michael Parenti http://www.michaelparenti.org/Tibet.html.
