WHAT IS CLUB SANDINO?

Club Sandino was born in London in the late eighties. It was formed by a posse of London based radical DJ's, musicians and dance enthusiasts and all profits were funnelled to the U.K./Nicaragua support groups. These groups were involved in the struggle by the people of Nicaragua and their democratically elected government against the U.S. backed Contra terrorist campaign.

In Dublin the club was originally based in the late lamented McGonagles of South Ann Street. Again all profits went to running the Irish Nicaragua Support Group (a forerunner of today's LASC).

The club's music policy is based on the links between musical languages and styles around the world. Salsa met reggae - soukous might be followed by r&b - bhangra beats gave way to highlife and so on.

So! - if you're into James Brown, Papa Wemba, Joe Arroyo, Khaled, Muddy Waters and an eclectic music mix this is where you'll get it...
