Thursday 6th March promises a night of music and craic in Cork's Spailpín Fánach to raise funds on behalf of the Old Head court challenge.

Most readers of Indymedia will need no introduction to the story of the Old Head, a magnificent coastal headland in West Cork where an exclusive golf links was built in 1997 and public access to the headland, enjoyed by people for generations, was cut off with fencing, razor wire and security.

A member of the Free the Old Head of Kinsale Campaign, Diarmuid Ó Dálaigh is shortly taking a court challenge to this denial of the right of way ont he Old Head and we are very hopeful this case will come up soon. We still need to raise funds to cover basic costs in the preparation of our case and that's why this and other fundraisers are necessary.

It's going to be a great night at the Spailpín on the 6th. The MC for the night will be Rory McCarthy who will no doubt give us a song or two along with his great wit. The other performers are:

The Brainwaves

The Céili All-Stars

Aaron Dillon (Drogheda)

Aidan from the Sin É

Admission is just €5 or whatever you can afford on the night.
