Protest against Shell at Bellanaboy Refinery Site, County Mayo
starting at 7AM Friday February 1st.

Shell are to announce their annual profits at the end of this week. Financial journalists have forecast that the company will show profits of 26.6 Billion US Dollars.

To deflect criticism, Shell claims that it re-invests the bulk of its profits into infrastructure. However, the company has a lamentable record on environmental and human rights issues, and has no commitment to renewable energy sources. Here in Ireland, Shell claims that refining the gas from the Corrib field safely offshore, as would be normal in the industry, would simply be too expensive.

A large scale protest will be held at the site of the proposed Shell refinery site at Bellanaboy, Erris County Mayo starting at 7AM.
